still breathing

So I haven't written in a few days as I have been sick.. a really nasty cold that my lovely "mini me" shared with me. The cold was enhanced by the fact that I was tattooed on Saturday, which had my adrenaline pumping which helped the virus envelope my entire body.. woo hooo..

and I lost my voice ..... and my little one made fun of me.. bless her...

Day-quil and Night quil .. saving grace... as well as Advil cold and sinus!!!!

Tattoo is healing nicely, all considering I am having a hard time placing the cream on my back!

and that's pretty much it.. for now.. I think .. maybe.. sorta.. perhaps

Tattoos + me = 5 hours endurance

For some who have been reading this blog for awhile knows that I'm not just a single mom, or a crochet artist, or a graphics person or even a photographer.. I am also a mom who likes tattoos, and as of Saturday I now have 17.
I have a high tolerance for pain, but I can honestly say this one took the cake and tested me big time
My tattoo artist Doug he owns "4 More Tattoos" in Langford -

Doug is truly an incredible artist.. I have known him for 10 years now, and has done most of the work that is on my body.  This piece he did on Saturday is no exception. His attention to detail and giving you exactly what you want and more!!!

I will have to say that I think I am done being tattoo for a very very long time.. This piece is very large and took most of my back.  It really tested my pain threshold, and how much I could handle.  5 Hours is a long time in a chair for anyone!

Anyone who tells you that getting tattooed on the spine does not hurt is lying to you or on drugs when they had it done.   There were moments where I had to ask him to stop just so I could regroup myself..

But 5 hours later, and a masterpiece is now on my back!

Thanks Doug you are truly truly gifted at what you do.. and I feel very privilege to not only have you as my artist but as a friend!

Tired little critters and Sherbert the Slug

Adele had a very very busy weekend.. she helped weeded the yard, create blanket forts, took Don out for lunch at Timmies, helped cleaned the bathroom, help with laundry, helped with the baking (banana bread and jello) and then her and Buttercup curled up on the floor and this was the end result.. pretty cute if you ask me!

Also :

Another Slug - Sherbert the Slug. He was made while watching Backyardigans I believe three episodes with Adele. He tried to play soccer but the tiny soccer ball was to big for him

He then tried his luck on the floor.. not the best idea

and to his realization is was safer to be on a computer, and watch the world around him

So he will be traveling to Edmonton to live with my sister Dee..
I can't keep these guys.. so if anyone would like a slug of their owe, let me know your colors, I sell them for $15

Cheers

Slugs, diaper cover and octopuesessss OH MY

So as a crochet long weekend, I was very productive. I saw online a slug that was made and decided I would see if I could create something similar using my new skills as a amigurami designer... and well I think I was successful..

striking a pose

checking out the window

dreaming for slug things

trio up to no good slugs

I also made a diaper cover, I will be making more of these, to sell.. these are made out of cotton, and easy to clean and throw in the wash!

and these suckers are going to be heading to their new home in Edmonton with my sister.. so I thought I would get a family portrait!

Oh and one more thing.. I did make another sheep, but forgot to bring him to work for his portrait session...

Change

Change is a good thing..
All types of change.. big, small, life altering, minuscule, good, bad...
It's all about adapting to the change that is happening in your life....
I'm rolling with it.. I like where this change is heading..
