The book of awesome

I had discovered like so many people the website "1000 Awesome thing"
When I found it way over a year ago, I was in a place in my life where I had questioned what was so great about being human, or just being. Then I discovered this site.
I can't tell you how much it really changed me, and how every day I look forward to ready what awesome thing is on the list.

On top of Mt. Douglas

So after living on this island for 8 years.... I for the first time went to the top of Mt. Douglas, and boy I was NOT disappointed.





a complete 360 view of the city and the island... truly it was breath taking.
I am always shocked and surprised that there are always things to discover here! I love this island!

3 years

It's hard to believe that it's been three years since we had to say good-bye to my dad today.

There are no words to discribe how much I miss him, how much I would love to hear his words of wisdom and his words of encouragment.

How I would love to hear one more time.. I love you Bean

And knowing his time was coming to an end he would always say " A la prochain fois "

Thoughts

a thought :
What is happiness?
To some it's money, to others living off the land, a child's laugh, or the first breath of fresh air in the morning, or that cup of coffee in the morning. It's hard to say everyone is different and has a different perspective of what is happiness.
Many events happen in life, and allows that perspective to change every fleeting moment.

What makes me happy.... right now at the this moment in time... seeing my little girl smile, sitting on my motorcycle, hearing "i love you".

Sometimes all it takes is words, a touch, a moment to make you feel happy.

What I realise:
I'm the older one now and now one of those people that look at the younger generation and go WHOA what are they thinking.. then I stop and go.. WHOA what the hell was I thinking!!!!

Made me smile

So as must of you know I create tonnes of hats for the neo-natal unit for our local hospital. Well today a fellow work came up to me to tell me that she was visiting a friend who just had a baby, and while exploring the maternity ward came across a bunch of pictures of little ones, and there were my hats, in the pics, and not just any hats but of my little pumpkin patch I had created in October. She said it was adorable.... Not going to lie it brought a tear to my eye, to just hear how my hats brought joy to families. It makes what I do so worth it.. and has given me an extra push to create more exciting hats for families to chose from.

Since all my hats are gone, I told my friend to ask her friend if she would like a custom one for her new little girl named Scarlet, but I think I already have an idea for her.
