Minion Hats

I have been working on making minion hats. It was an unexpected and but wonderful surprise to see that people like my creations. I have been a crocheting mad women, and loving it!

Each hat is unique, and there will never be another like the previous.. That's the beauty of handmade products. Each hat is special!

Crocheting is relaxing, and most are done with me sitting on the floor surround by yarn and papers and a good movie on the TV.

If you would like to have a minion hat for a family member or just for yourself, send me a message and I can send  pricing and options for your hat.

20 Hats for a cause

Today I'm about to hand in 20 crochet hats to the hospital for the neo-natal unit.
I'm very excited, a lot of love and time went into each hat. I have been making these hats for a few months now, but these 20 were done in just a couple of weeks.

I have been asked why do I make these hats and not sell them... and this is my reply:
Each hat has love and individuality as every child is different and unique. I was very very lucky to be able to bring my little one home to love and watch her get older and cherish the new memories that she gives me, but there are some moms and dads that don't get to have that privilege, and upon returning home empty handed and tears in their eyes, I want to make sure that they can take home a treasure and memory that for a moment in time they were able to bring into this world a special life that as brief as it was will always be with them.

Weekend Project and a 10k run

This weekend was what I needed. I enjoyed my couch and my crochet needles, and played a wack load of God Of War 3.
This weekend I created 2 hats. I'm in the process of making a flower for the yellow one..( was made out of 75% acrylic and 25% wool) the gradient blue was made with 100% cotton ( think I will weave a ribbon threw this one). As you can see I didn't have my super model for the weekend, and honestly using a orange pot and wool just doesn't cut it for the pic, but I will have her tonight, and will take some pics.

and I also made a Mouse:

OHHHH looky looky.. there is my label sew on the creature. I still have to figure out how the hell I'm going to properly sew this sucker on.. any advice would be beneficial. This mouse has a home to go to and be loved!

Now add a 10km run/walk, and you have a hurting body, that the couch was the MOST comfortable place to be, as well as my bathtub, and my diet of motrin. It was an amazing race, and loved the experience. It was a great way to kick me in the butt and get moving on my training!!!!

Something Orange

I had an aha moment.. which in turn made me feeling a little silly.. I realised that my daughter need a new hat for the summer. Looking at stores trying to find the right hat for her.. then I broke out in laughter.. DUH I can crochet one!!!! WOW what a concept. I have been so busy making things for other people.. didn't realise that I could just whip one up!
And then I realised that I had was working on a Spring CAL project... This is PURFECT

I have to say Adele looks ADORABLE in it. Is there any color this kid does not look good in????

SO this picture is a sneak peak at what I did. The hat it's self is done, but now I'm going to make daffodils and work with the them of the Spring CAL to add to it.
