Getting ready for my ride
I have to send a HUGE HUGE thank you to Goldstream Cycle's again for their amazing staff.
Steve and the gang are incredible, not only making sure I have the proper bike for me, but also a huge mental support from everyone in the store.
The other day I was asked to come it to make sure my bike is fitting me properly and to make sure my riding form is up to par. With their help I know I will be ready for the ride for Boomer's Legacy in June 2013.

Sorry everyone for the lack of updates.. life has been on a whirl wind adventure.. from vacation to fishing, to getting ready for Adele to go to school for the first time, to saying good-bye to the love of my life for a couple of months..to training for Boomer's Legacy Ride 2013.
So this is just a small blurb to let you all know that I'm still alive.. breathing.. and yes I do get some sleep.. Hard to believe at times.

I'M still ALIVE
Well it has been a really CRAZY and fantastic summer.
First off I returned home to see my mom, grandmother, sister and her boyfriend Levi.
It was healing in so many ways. To be home for the first time since my dad's funeral. To have the entire family together again, with new faces, made it incredible.
Adele spent copious amount of time in the dirt, and enjoyed spending time with Grandma Primeau.
Below is our family picture for 2012.. we maybe missing my dad, but he was there in spirit.

Weekend with Adele
This weekend was a busy weekend for Adele and I. With Don working on Saturday.. it was a mama and daughter day. So this is what we did...
Went to the beach and fed the birds - remind Swans are HUGE and are taller then child..
Beach is a much nicer place to enjoy the morning.
After sending text messages back and forth to my friend Andrea, she informed me that her and the kids were going to go berry picking! DONE DONE and DONE..
Upon arriving we discovered that it was a berry festival, so the girls got to enjoy getting their face painted while the older boys enjoyed the maze.
Adele was a fantastic berry picker.. uhm I think to that more berries went into her mouth then the basket.. We had so much fun. There was also live music, and lots of entertainment for the entire family
Adele and Kara - they pretty much have known each other since birth, and it's always awesome to get the two girls together.
Adele decided to demonstrate her artistic skills.. her version of the Jolly Roger... arrrggggg
Sunday we watch little man Grayson! Adele learnt very quickly that babies are a lot of work, and was good experience for her, as her father and wife are expecting their child in Nov.
It was an awesome week and weekend with Adele.. it was very hard to let go this morning for both mama and daughter.. but in 7 sleeps she comes home and then we are off to our Alberta Adventure!!!!!

Adventure with Adele
This weekend was an amazing weekend with friends and my little family.
Here are just some of my favorite moments.
Adele the mighty fossil hunter!
She had so much fun.. and she wasn't afraid to get dirty or get her running shoes and socks wet.. normally this is a real problem! Made mama very proud!
On a side note: This little event would have made my dad proud as well. I know that while she was searching, he was guiding her..
Maybe when we head up north we will take her fossil hunting..

Boomer's Legacy Ride
Last weekend I partook in keep cyclist safe on the highway from Boomer's Legacy..
This ride was emotional and hard to hold back the tears.
This is my second year to be apart of this amazing journey.. The link below is pictures from the ride
http://rimini.weebly.com/2/post/2012/06/boomers-legacy-ride.html
The most emotional part of it all was at the end when we were doing the ceremony.. and this was a banner, with 4 boards attached together.. and all the riders had fallen soldiers on their bikes.. some riders were not able to complete the ride and I was handed one of the fallen.. I can't tell you how suddenly emotional I got..Here in my had was a name not just any name but a name to be placed on a board with all other names of those who would not be coming home.. who would not get to hug a loved one.. who's voice was silenced forever...
As I watch people place the names, some of the riders were personal friends of the name they were placing.. and that gave it even more of an impact.
I give you the name that I had to place on the board - Cpl. Jamie Murphy
Here is a bit of his story
I did not know him personally, but I am forever grateful for what he and the other fallen did for me and my country.

So looking for people to train with and be apart of this amazing ride.. ANYONE ANYONE..

She is on her way....
It's funny when you start to clean out a computer.. it's the same feeling as going threw a closet full of "stuff" and finding little gems, things that make you smile and remember, or things that make you sad, but still make you smile. Today i'm slowly getting ride of files that aren't needed anymore.. but I always come across pictures of Adele.. and how much she has changed in such a short time
This picture made me smile and feel sad all at the same time.. my mini me is growing and she can't stay mini anymore..
This picture made me smile and feel sad all at the same time.. my mini me is growing and she can't stay mini anymore..
Then again, I would be missing out on what is happening now, and what is to come..
and I don't think I would want that..
She is expanding and soaring in so many ways, from learning about how make robots, and dance like a monkey to pretending to be an astronaut to believe she can be whatever she want.. my job is to stand and encourage and wipe the tears when she falls and stand her back on her feet.. she is on her way oh the places she will go, the people she will meet, and dreams that will soar, and in all and all I'm proud to say that she will find her way, she is on her way
Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So... get on your way.” ~ Dr. Seuss

Tinkerbell Project.. the beginning
So as you have read in previous post, i'm making a Tinkerbell blanket for my daughter.
Just a bit of the yarn attached to the blanket at once |
Using Denise Interchangeable Crochet and extensions kit. This blanket is done in Tunisian simple stitch (165 stitches in length) |
So after a "uhm few hours" this is what I have done.. yaaaaaa it's going to be a big blanket.. but work it. |
Diva helping me! yaaa KITTIES and Yarn in my house doesn't match! |
I'm having a lot of fun and challenging making this... the twisting of the spools yarn. So it got a little nuts when making the feet.. now I'm at start of her legs.. as you can see I'm about to start the sparkles.. etc etc.. So onto the next section!

Mother's day weekend with my little family
I never thought that I would ever become a mother. It's not an easy job. But because of this little girl, I feel complete and whole. She is my world.
We all had a great weekend.. and it was all about running around, swimming, playing, relaxing, learning the ways of the force and my favorite moments, when she curled up in my arms after a long day of playing, and fell asleep. I honestly didn't want to put her to bed, I just wanted to hold her and cherish the memory. This is my little girl.. this is my little person, who I made and I would never ever EVER trade these moments to be a single NON mom person..
So here is to being a mom.. the toughest job I have EVER loved!!!

Souls of crochet
This is my arsenal of eyes, noses, and variety of buttons.. this little container contains the life of my creatures.. why you may ask, because the eyes are the soul.. and without eyes you have a blank creatures.
It's one of my favorite moments is placing the eyes .. its when they come to life.. its when a smile is created on the creator.
So this is a little treasure box - I guess you can say.. of more creatures to come..

Times are a changing
How do we manage life without modern technology. I try to think back how did we do it with cellphones or anything that pertained to virtual contact. Just thinks to make u think. Not so long ago, there was any of this, and at this moment I am writing on a blog, in a virtual journal for the world to see on the floor in my pjs on a phone.... incredible really incredible

Tunisian crochet
So I'm taking a break from making creatures.. just need a change for my hands..
I started to play with tunisian crochet.. being someone who works with pixels all the time.. I love this crochet technique.. You have seen me do this before.. and this pattern before.. so i'm just refining my techniques. So this little beauty is going to be a pot holder, once this side is done, I will create the opposite effect for the second side, and stitch together... and see where that takes me...
As for creatures.. I will be in the swing of things fairly soon. My octopuses were a huge success at the Calgary Comic Con ( thank you DEE) and my sister has request more, as well as mini ones and headbands.. so I will be in the throw of eight legs .... which reminds me I need more eyes!
ON A SIDE NOTE:
I'm really lucky to have a supportive family, and be apart of an artistic family!
LOVE YOU GUYS!
